Our beautiful 112-year-old home located in a peaceful garden can be your starting-point for Canadian adventures and language learning. You'll be just a 20-minute walk to Bow Valley College and Anne's Language House; a 25-minute bus ride to SAIT, or a 45-minute bus ride to the University of Calgary or Mount Royal College. Some of our favourite recreational sites inside the city are equally accessible: the Zoo, the Devonian Gardens, the Science Centre and the riverside cycling and running path are within walking distance; we also enjoy Heritage Park and Nose Hill Park.
You'll enjoy our laid-back hospitality with home-baking and fresh-prepared meals. We love music, theatre and ballet. We'll share our culture with you: our families helped settle Canada's western prairies a century ago, and we'll share that culture and history with you. There's WIFI internet so you can use the internet to study and keep in touch with your social media from home; and there's a piano that you are welcome to play. But there's also room in our home for you to enjoy your privacy when you need to, and it's Quiet Time from 10 p.m. until 7 a.m.
Our monthly social evening will let you meet other Canadians with a variety of interests. You are welcome to attend church with us, but if you prefer we can help you connect with one of the many other churches, mosques, synagogues, Buddhist temples and other places of worship in Calgary.
