Welcome to Calgary...the heart of the West! And welcome to our home, situated in Kingsland, a neighborhood 10 minutes from downtown, close to all major roads and bus routes, a quick walk to various popular coffee shops and a 5 minute walk to Chinook centre...one of Canada's largets shopping malls. There are also 3 sushi restaurants close by as well as a Korean/Japanese grocery store. If you like walking, we are a 15 minute walk to some of Calgary's best walking and cycling trails. If you love the mountains, Calgary is a place you should visit as we're 40 minutes away from many hiking and camping spots.
I'm in the process of teaching myself Japanese and would like to move to Japan one day so I'd welcome guests from Japan who wish to have an affordable homestay in Calgary while learning English, enjoying our city and teaching me about their culture. I have a small dog who loves everyone so if you enjoy dogs, you will love her. If you enjoy gardening, then you will like my backyard where I plant lots of vegetables in the summer. I also enjoy cooking and I would look forward to learning more about favourite meals from your country, and I can show you some of my favourite meals. For meal provision, I'd be happy to discuss meal arrangement you are comfortable with but my preference would be to make our own meals sometimes and make some meals together so we can learn about each other's culture.
